So feeling like an imposter (both imposter and impostor are right, actually) is more the norm than not. We don't talk about it a lot. Well, I do, but not everyone does. We probably should, though, because it would make us feel less alone.
I'm trying to transform my sense of being an impostor into a super power. Because I know what it is like to feel like I do not belong (due to my First Generation College Student status, my introversion in a world of student affairs extroverts, and a variety of other reasons and factors), I have the ability to:
Empathize
Work Hard
Innovate
Create
Lift Others Up
Celebrate Others' Success
Make The Way Easier For Those Who Come Next
So... if you also understand what it means to feel like an impostor, then you can connect with people in ways others may not be able to.
In conclusion, we are all imposters in some way. Join the club and reap the benefits of that membership.
